Hi friends - we're getting started here a little earlier than planned, but only because of a few early-bird arrivals on the Red Carpet: America Ferrera, Patricia Arquette & Anna Kendrick so far.
I'm CJ, a digital producer here at the Star Tribune, and I'll be curating this liveblog tonight. For all you watching at home, what I want to know is who YOU'RE wearing! (I'm in vintage Gap denim and Target boots, heh) Did you get dressed up? Are you at a swanky party? Or do you grab some popcorn and pizza and hunker down in cozy pants? Either way, tell us your opinions both on the red carpet and the awards to come. Let's get started!
Personal opinion: That peachy-pink color is super dreamy against Anna Kendrick's perfectly pale skin. That's a lot of "p"s in one sentence, but there it is.
Is Faith Hill's crop new, or ... am I seeing things? (I think I dig it)
Bwahaha. Tim McGraw pronounced "Lanvin" in the fancy French way when Ryan Seacrest asked him about the designer of his tux. Adorable.
HOW did I literally not know until now that Margot Robbie is Australian? I live under a rock sometimes, I swear.
Bruce Dern told Ryan Seacrest he is the "ultimate endurance champion." Did I hear that correctly?
So, it's raining in LA. Didn't it rain last year, too? (I don't feel that sorry for them; I'd take rain over our cold any day.)
Really super not sure how I feel about Marion Cotillard's dress. Ehhhhhhhh. I just don't know. I just don't know.
Eddie Redmayne in navy blue = swoon.
I swear it has nothing to do with his accent.
Another red dress! But holy moly, Rosamund Pike looks ah-maz-ing.
I'm noticing that two colors are common: Red and metallic pale cream/grey/iceblue. AND cutouts and high slits are trending.
