NFL Network had a quick interview with Bridgewater who said he thought Vikes were going to take him as they have met with him numerous times and been in close contact with him. Seems like this was our guy all along - Turner knew what he wanted.

Y'all can stop comparing Bridgewater with Ponder. Seriously. One was a reach, the other a steal.

Wow Rick, didn't learn your lesson from drafting Christian Ponder? Now we have another erratic quarterback with a weak arm, highly inaccurate, and can't read defenses. I hope you're proud of yourself, you just set us back another 3 years.

Vikes need help NOW.. and they draft a project.... well this is good for Ponder.. no added competition

"I will suspect more movement." -Spielman on Day 2 picks and addressing other needs #Vikings

Manziel won't say if they coveted Manziel earlier in the first round.
Love this draft. Spielman has worked his magic again. For all the naysayers on Barr, one of the best draft minds out there, Mike Mayock had this pick. I can't wait to watch how Zim works him into the SAM spot and brings him up to rush in 3rd downs. Bridgewater can develop on the bench under Turner and should be ready for the 2015 season and we gave up very little to get him. Only six months ago people on these message boards were saying we should loose games so we could get him at the top of the draft (same with Barr who when the season ended seemed like he would not be there at pick 9). The whiners on these boards always make me sick, the pundints will grade this as one of the best drafts (after Browns and Rams) and this will be seen (along with last years draft) as an amazing two year run. Final thought - by taking him in the first round we have Bridgewater for 5 years before FA - great move.

Yeah, that's true. No sense in bashing them until we see what they can do. If he can become a starting QB, then great. If he can't, for crying out loud, don't force him on us for 3 years!

Glad to see we got Teddy B, even happier JF went to Cleveland.

"That will be determined by the coaching staff" -Spielman on whether Bridgewater will sit a year. #Vikings

Everybody was worried about All-Day's propensity for getting injured. How's that worked out?

Mettenberger has four red flags against him. Might be trouble.

Johnny Football's game is good for college but not so much for the NFL. I would pick Mettenberger or AJ McCarron before Johnny Football.

So, we got the guy who was assumed to be the number one overall pick coming into the year and a guy that was a first team All-American in only his second year playing the position? Great night.

Nobody knows how these picks will pan out until they start snapping the football. It's a total crapshoot. Maybe Teddy will be a savior. Maybe not. But this draft got much more interesting.

Spielman said Bridgewater private workout was "totally different" than Pro Day. Thought Pro Day issues were easily correctable. #Vikings

Bridgewater spent 3 or 4 days here under a microscope. I think Turner, Zimmer and Spielman know him better than anyone here. I think he is a great pick.
by JoPa5/9/2014 3:56:23 AM
There are 3 better quarterbacks and we didn't need to move up to pick one of them

Watching Teddy play for the past 3 years, he will not be a bust. The kid is a tough leader that makes the big plays and earns the respect of his players. The IMG advisors screwed him all up after the season.
