Awright, folks. Only 10 more games in this dead-men-walking season (how ya feel about an 18-game schedule now?). Let's roll ...
Nah. There are a lot of other teams that are bad or able to play down to the level the Vikings are at now. But they might want to stop losing to winless teams like the Browns and Giants.
John, you and Bill C. will never come out of the TV booths. It would ruin your genius status.
Hate yes-and-no answers, but yes and no. I don't think the Vikings ever give up. But I look at how confused and ineffective they sometimes look -- did someone say offensive line -- and think they might not be the best prepared team.
A lot of what happened Monday night can be attributed to the fact Freeman had only four practices before playing a road game. Four.
Well, my experience is when a guy plays well, they keep him or try to sign him. If he doesn't play well, they get rid of him or don't try to sign him. Freeman is 25. If the Vikings deem him to be the guy and are able to re-sign him, he would be the guy. I wouldn't see them drafting a guy in the first round when Freeman is this young. Wouldn't make any sense.
I think it's time to cut the sign-Winfield cord. He's 36, the team is 1-5 and going nowhere beyond the regular season. It's time to play the young guys and get them some experience.
No. If that were the case, they would have lost at Washington on Christmas eve in 2011 and Robert Griffin III would be your starting quarterback.
Peterson isn't being traded. Peterson is the guy you hope to get with a draft pick when you make a trade for a draft pick.
Doubt he got duped. When figuring out why a guy signed somewhere, follow the $$$. Jennings had 48 million reasons to think things would work out in Minny.
The latter. He was an up-and-down quarterback a year ago. When he became a down-and-down quarterback through an 0-3 start, the rib injury made it convenient to look elsewhere. When elsewhere produced a win and then TB cut Freeman, well, that's all she wrote.
Freeman is 25. He's 43 days older than Ponder. If the Vikings decide he's the guy and are able to sign him, the can isn't being kicked down the road.
Definitely need another elite corner. I'd say they also need more than depth at linebacker. Another top-shelf starter would help.
Peterson actually is ahead of last year's pace. But that will change soon unless the running game steps it up. A year ago, Peterson had 1,598 of his 2,097 yards in the final 10 games.
Of all the questions facing this 1-5 start, that might be the most puzzling. They're not working together and are being beaten physically.
Stay tuned. If they keep getting embarrassed at home and embarrassed on national TV, it could end up that way. I don't think it will though.
I see you've been watching Tom Brady and Eli's older brother.
No. Frazier is on record saying it won't happen. Something could change, but I don't think it will.
They got Freeman for no draft picks and no commitment beyond this year. Their current QBs weren't cutting it. Freeman was given a chance. It's been one game. One. Let's see how it plays out, but, no, Spielman doesn't lose his job for picking up a 25-year-old former first-round draft pick who has thrown for 4,000 yards. When you don't have a QB, you keep looking for a QB.
Touche. I guess I'm thinking Rhodes has a promising future and can develop into one in relatively short time.
