Hey guys, we will officially get this underway at noon, but you can start voting on who you think Houston should select with the first pick now. Talk to you guys in 15 minutes. Looking forward to it.
Allow me to introduce my partner in crime, Master Tesfatsion. Say hi, Master.
Hello. Excited to do this. Should be a fun hour or so
So the Texans have the first pick, as you might have heard. And a day out from the draft, we still don't know who they will select, though it seems that Clowney is the likely pick. They could also trade down.
Master, do you think the Texans should go with Clowney or Mack, or do they need to take advantage of picking first and find their next quarterback of the future?
It's pretty insane we're almost 24 hours away from the draft and have no clue who will go #1. I love Clowney and Mack and think the Texans can't go wrong with picking one of those guys and pick a quarterback with their second round pick. It seems a lot of QBs will and could fall into the second round (ahem, Teddy Bridgewater?!).
Fans, feel free to chime in, too.
Master loves him some Teddy Bridgewater.
OK, we are officially putting three minutes on the clock. After that, we move onto the Rams, so vote if you haven't already.
I'm torn on whether the Texans should trade their pick. It really depends on what they get. If it's a deal like the Rams got for RG3, do it by all means. But how many teams will offer that kind of deal again after seeing what happened to Washington last year. They would be picking second overall.
I would be surprised if Clowney isn't the top pick, whether it's the Texans who take them or another team in a trade.
OK, Clowney is the pick for the Texans, according to you guys. Let's move onto the Rams.
Wow, so 72% think it's Clowney going #1 overall. Thought Mack would get a few more votes.
A lot of people think the Rams will look to trade out, but if they don't, I think they should pick the best player on the board and not necessarily go off a certain need. I think Robinson, Mack or Watkins would be smart here.
The Rams, once again, are in a great spot, especially if Houston passes on Clowney. They should be able to get quite the haul if they trade the pick, but it loses a lot of value if Clowney is gone. I'm not sure any other player is worth trading the house for, especially in such a talented and deep draft.
The Rams pick second and 13th in the first round, and there are reports out there that they are hot and heavy for Johnny Football. Doubt he is there at No. 13. Would you take Manziel at No. 2 if you were them?
Call me crazy, but I think Mack would be great here. A LB unit of Mack/Laurinaitis/Ogletree to go with their DEs Long/Quinn? That's nasty.
That's a talented front seven for sure. And if Clowney is there, why not take him? Imagine THAT pass rush.
OK, 30 more seconds to get your pick in...
