From the Star Tribune's Corey Mitchell in the Morning Hot Dish Political newsletter:
Four of Minnesota's U.S. representatives -- Republicans Michele Bachmann, John Kline and Erik Paulsen and Democrat Collin Peterson -- have requested that their pay be withheld for the duration of the federal government shutdown, but they'll receive back pay when it comes to an end. That's not a guarantee for the more than 800,000 federal employees who are furloughed because of the shutdown. Congress must approve their back pay, and a bipartisan coalition of House lawmakers is pushing for a bill to ensure that happens. Democratic U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, who will keep receiving his pay during the shutdown, has signed on as a co-sponsor of the bill."
