Good afternoon, everybody. Thanks for stopping on by. Well, we're about 30 hours away from the NBA draft and there's a little bit to talk about. I'll try to get to as many questions as possible in the hour.
Let's start with a good one: I don't think so. Going back to my expansion days with Jimmy Rodgers and Sidney Lowe, I don't think so. Mine is probably lower than Kurt Rambis'
I still like the Golden State deal best if you can get both Klay and Barnes. You're buying hope with the Celtics trade. I'd rather have two young upcoming players who you know what you're getting
Pretty much but that being said anything is possible with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert. Never rule anything out
Most likely probably is a guy like Adreian Payne, or Gary Harris or Zach LaVine if they're there. Their dream probably would be McDermott -- or maybe Stauskas -- falling to them.
Good point, I think he's at the point where he's just decided it's time to move on
I'm sure they have all kinds of options. I wouldn't rule out anybody being traded, not Pek, not Ricky. Probably unlikely, but possible for sure. Better bets are nominal deals to trade JJ, Shved or maybe a guy like Budinger
Yes, probably the best singular piece available. He's certainly better than, say, the 6th pick, in my book.
Is that a mix between Cole Aldrich and Elfrid Payton? Interesting if they'd take a point guard with that 13th pick. They just might if he's the best guy there and given the success of Damian Lillard....
I doubt they get any better by the trade deadline but that's not to say the draft will be the best. The best certainly could come in July or August after teams plotting for Melo or LeBron get shut out. If the Bulls or Rockets come up empty, you might do better with one of them then
Yes, I think Shabazz and Gorgui will benefit directly because Flip drafted them and if they come along well, it makes him look good. The guy who might benefit most is Mbah a Moute. People talk about trying to dump his contract. I get the opposite vibe: I think Flip wants to show he should have played more last season
I wouldn't say likely -- there are limited teams who'd be willing to take on that contract and injury history -- but it's not impossible. i think he's here at least another year
I'll still play the odds and go with Golden State because they have the assets, their owner is motivated and Love would re-sign there. But it's a good bit less than 50-50 that it happens by tomorrow night
Not unprecedented, LeBron and Bosh both did unless you count what the teams got in return for sign and trades after the fact
Probably still possible, but I've always heard he wants a front office job or might even want to play another year. Unless he's announced something recently that I haven't kept up on
Oops, sorry my answer for last question didn't post: JJ or Shved
What are they going to do, fire him? He owns a piece of the team
I doubt it. There's no real history for any Northern team of doing that, is there? Not even the Bulls
Sure, they do but you're quite unlikely to be able to get them
TBD, I'm pretty sure that's who they've been pushing for
The Kevin Martin issue probably is a factor as well
Not really, but he's still a good player and it's probably the price of milk for making the rest of the deal you want to make
