Nurses at four Allina Health hospitals walk out

Nearly 5,000 nurses at five Twin Cities hospitals went on strike at 7 a.m. today in a contract dispute with their employer, Allina Health. The affected hospitals are Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis, United in St. Paul, Mercy in Coon Rapids and Unity in Fridley, along with the Phillips Eye Institute in Minneapolis, which is also part of the Allina system.
