Good morning from the business news desk of the Star Tribune.
Archiver's, the Golden Valley-based chain of 33 charming stores fililed with scrapbooks, photo albums, stickers and other items for keeping memories, said this morning that it is going out of business. Early details here and more to come throughout the day. The company had filed for bankruptcy last April but continued to operate in Minnesota and 17 other states.
Stocks in Asia were mixed overnight but European stocks are solidly higher and U.S. futures indicate an opening to the upside. On the second trading day of the year, the Dow has been up three-quarters of the time over the last two decades. We'll see if that streak continues today.
