Good afternoon everybody! Thanks for stopping by for the first live chat in a while. The questions are coming in and I'll try to get to as many as I can in the next hour. So here we go...
Don't tell Wolves that making playoffs isn't realistic. That's what this deal would be intended to help do. If they do it, I've got to think there's another deal in the pipeline for a point guard to replace JJ, a guy like Andre Miller or Jameer Nelson
I would think the Nuggets can get a better offer for Miller than that. Certainly possible, maybe probable even that Shved gets traded by tomorrow
Certainly a big risk, but at some point they felt like they had to raise them to a competitive level after them slashing them to the price of a movie in some cases in 2009
Probably would have to include Gorgui or Shabazz or future pick(s) and Dante's expiring plus Shved's contract too
Yes, of course there is. A guy named Love
Much more likely Love is back next fall than Adelman, IMO
I doubt very much Pau would sign to come here, even with Ricky here. He'll have better options and teams with more money available after him. Wolves are well over cap
Very well could be true, but we have to wait for it to play out with these Wolves before you can say that. Jury's way out on Flip as GM
How in the world are you going to fit a $14M salary on a team that's well over the salary cap. You got to think about the money before you propose any deal, and often have to think about first above everything else
Well, you would think at least a high pick in this summer's stacked draft just for one piece, but I'm not sure they come to a decision to trade him by then. I expect this will go well into next season and maybe even after...
Who do you propose? THose guys are hard to find. It'd probably take Pek to get a guy like Asik and then you got to decide if you really want to pay him $15M next year
better than 50-50 probably
I don't see it. Fred will coach in the NBA some day, but not yet. Too soon, he's got it too good in Ames for now. It will take him some time before he decides he's tired of spending his life in some pimply teenager's living room
I think it's far more likely he's the next coach, unless Glen Taylor absolutely forbids it. But Flip's pretty persuasive.
Yes, that usually is the case. But I'm not sure just who and what kind of offers he'll get for him. Teams aren't going to offer much unless they're sure they can sign him and what does a team like the Lakers have to offer. If it's really a done deal Love to LA, why not just wait to get him for nothing or little to nothing.
That's another $8M guard when they're already paying KMartin $7M.
You could argue that Melo was traded for more than equal value.
